Where does the design of Supercap closures take place?

Where does the design of Supercap closures take place?

The place where aspects related to product aesthetics and functionality speak the same language is the Research & Development department, the company’s creative core.

Thanks to it, the company has been able to make significant improvements over the years: from a local reality it is now leader with regards to designing and producing closures for bottles all over the world.

A path full of success thanks to studies, in-depth analysis and continuous research, aimed at developing innovative and sustainable technologies to create high quality solutions, starting from the customer’s requests.

“Designing closures able to adapt to any customer needs has always been the foundation of our work. With passion, creativity and research we create innovative and high quality products.”

Words that we can find in everyday life, in fact the customer portfolio is getting richer every day with new projects and interesting collaborations with the most famous brands worldwide.

In this article we present to you how we project step by step the design of Supercap closures, always starting from your needs.

Supercap closure design: our methodology

Studying the design of a Supercap closure for us can mean 2 things:

  1. The customer asked for a specific product after browsing our website
  2. The request is made by a design studio, with a well-defined project.

Case 1 - When the customer requests a product.

In this case we ask the customer for detailed measurements of the bottle, meaning its data sheet, if it has not been already provided to us, to verify the feasibility of the project.

If the requested product is not suitable for the desired purpose, no problem, we suggest the right alternative that best meets the specific needs of the customer.

Once the right Supercap stopper has been found, if the customer needs it, we send some samples to then proceed with the bottle filling tests at the level indicated on the data sheet, to verify the correct performance of the product. Precisely for this reason we always suggest that you send more than one sample of the bottle, in addition to its technical data sheet.

After the first evaluation, we proceed with the tests as follows:

1. Detailed analysis of the technical sheet, to then check if the dimensions match with the bottle sample. This first step is essential to ensure that there are no glass malformations that would prevent the correct execution of the subsequent tests.

2. Filling test: we fill the bottle with food simulant (alcohol at 40°) to verify that the cap adheres well to the bottle neck and subsequently that no POP UP phenomena (raising of the cap) occurs.

3. Heat stress test: we put the bottle in the oven (40°C) for a period of 24 consecutive hours.

4. Then we carry out leakage tests by placing the bottle horizontally, always considering the same period of time, to ensure that the liquid does not spill out from the bottle

5. If the tests are successful we immediately inform the customer, we can also send a sampling (if required) for subsequent approval, then we move on to the production of the Supercap closure.

6. The integrity of the product is therefore monitored during production, where we take additional samples and check them further, so as to ensure maximum efficiency of the product once it reaches the customer.

Case 2 - When the product design is to be realized.

When the request comes from a design studio, we find ourselves working on a project that includes unusual and particular shapes, different from traditional ones.

In this second scenario we could then face two different situations:

The first of these occurs when we have to search for the required elements, in order to then study the realization of a closure that is accurate in every detail.

The second occurs when the request comes close to projects already made, for this reason we send samples of similar products to give an idea of what we are able to achieve and thus verify if it can be in line with what was previously pictured.

In both situations, after the right materials have been identified, we proceed with the creation of a project preview on the technical sheet to show what features the Supercap closure will have once made.

If necessary and the customer specifically requires it, we can create a graphical preview of the entire packaging (bottle + cap).

Once everything is approved, we proceed with the tailor-made product realization to then perform the same tests mentioned above.

In the event that the performance of the product is positively evaluated, and is therefore suitable for its purpose, we notify our customer for confirmation and approval to then start the production process. Like the first case, we can also perform a preliminary sampling.
